NFACB SPRING WORKSHOP
MAY 1ST, 2010
@ BUFFALO MARITIME CENTER
901 FUHRMANN BLVD. , BUFFALO, NY.
9 A.M. TO NOON
Presenters in order:
LEW MARKLE: Lew is the owner of Lew’s Canoes located on Centerline Rd. in South Wales, NY. Lew has just completed a canoe building class at the Maritime Center and will show us what is involved in constructing a craft from start to finish. His workmanship is top-notch and it certainly shows in the end product.
CAPT. JOHN POMARANSKI: John runs Pomaranski Marine Surveys located on Grand Island, NY. He does boat surveying on both power and sailboats, commercial and private. He will talk about the issues using Ethanol (E-10) in marine fuels. Concerns such as separation of gasoline and water in tanks, damage to fuel lines, gaskets, valves, push rods, to name a few will be covered and how we can cope with new EPA regulations.
RON GREENE: Now that we know the problems that ethanol creates, Ron @ Enertech Labs in Buffalo will show us how to prevent a lot of these problems from happening. He’s worked on this subject for a number of years and has a great background combating the E-10 evils.
DAVE ALBERTSON: Dave is a new member of your board and a guru on “Glassics”. He is also our webmaster and will discuss the ins and outs of the NFACB website. (oldboatsbuffalo.org.). It’s a big undertaking to keep the website up to date and he will walk us through the internet jungle. After his presentation I’m sure all of our members will put the club’s website in their “favorites” column.
Admission to the workshop is $10 USD. which includes coffee and donuts in the morning plus lunch with beverages will be served at noon.
Plan on attending as this will be our last workshop until the fall/winter session. See you all at the Maritime Center!
