Mick Griffin - One of our “elder” statesmen of the club, Mick will get us up to date on all the new judging changes that ACBS had approved at their summer meeting in St. Michaels, MD. Some of the changes involve new point values with respect to the different boat categories. There have also been changes in the “preserved” vs. “restored” boats.

Ryan Sherwood - Ryan is a representative from Thruway Hardwood and

Plywood Corp on Anderson Rd. in Cheektowaga. He will go through what his company can provide in the way of hardwoods and marine plywood that we are always looking for during the restoration process. Always great to have a new supplier as presenter.

Margaret Szczepaniec - Margaret, Chairwoman of the Black Rock Canal Steering Committee, will present plans for the redevelopment of the Niagara River boat launch and surrounding areas @ the foot Of Ontario St. Public access to our WNY waterways is always an important issue for boaters. Questions and answers following her presentation.

Alan Frederick - Now that you have that waterline scribed on your side planking with the laser level you got for Christmas, how do we get those crisp and sharp lines painted in place? No need to bring those 3-D glasses, the mystery will be solved at the Maritime Center. Another long time member of your club, Alan is also sneaking up on the “elder” statesman status.

Evening with Chris Smith‏

On Saturday, February 6, 2010, from 6:30 - 10:00 p.m. the Niagara Frontier Chapter is hosting an evening with Chris Smith at the Pierce Arrow Museum at 263 Michigan Avenue, Buffalo.

Please come as Chris Smith, grandson of the founder of Chris Craft Corporation, reminiscences about his years in boating. Please feel free to invite guests as the evening is open to one and all!

The cost is $29.50 per person and includes admission to the Pierce Arrow Museum, buffet dinner with cash bar and Chris Smith's talk.

HOW TO DRILL THE SHAFT LOG HOLE WHEN REPLACING THE KEEL IN YOUR BOAT.

This Tuesday Night December 15 at 6 PM,

 Alan Frederick will be setting up his shaft log drilling jig and drilling the shaft log hole on Rich Rappold's Century runabout. We'll be at the Buff State Maritime Center from 6-8 PM on Tuesday.

This should be an interesting and informative couple of hours.

 Welcome to all to stop in.

 Rocky will be baking Christmas cookies this week end to pass out.

The 2009 ACBS International Boat Show is being held in Muskoka.  Show dates are September 22 thru September 27.  The Niagara Frontier Chapter is interested in putting together a road trip for our members that weekend, Friday Sept 26th thru Sunday Sept. 28th.  We are seeking preliminary indications of interest from the membership.  Please let us know if you are planning on going or are interested in putting together a group.  Complete information is available at www.acbs.org .  If there is enough interest, we will coordinate lodging and transportation.  Please respond by posting a comment on this Blog so everyone will know who is interested. This could be a great trip!
